There is nothing better than the smell of chili cooking in a crock-pot on a cold day. I look forward to Sunday afternoons watching my favorite football games eating a couple bowls of chilli. Without my favorite appliance in the kitchen, the Crock-Pot, a Sunday just would not be the same. I use my Crock-Pot or often referred to as a slow cooker on a weekly basis. It does not really matter what you prefer to call the appliance as long as you can recognize it is one of the best ways to cook in the kitchen. When I found out that the makers at Belkin teamed up with Jarden Consumer Solutions to create a WeMo Crock-Pot, I was ecstatic. This meant less eating on the run, healthier dinners, and more family dinners. All of our lives are so busy going in so many different directions. A family meal is important though, sometimes it is challenging to get the family sitting down at the table together. A slow cooker allows for a delicious meal to be ready when you get home after a long day.
This Connected kitchen appliance is the first smartphone controllable slow cooker. You can adjust temperatures, change cooking times, and check the status of your dish, all while you’re out and about. If you forget to turn on your meal, no worries the app will send you reminders. As long as you have the free app on your phone, you can remotely control your slow cooker without ever being in your kitchen. Belkin’s WeMo app will be available with iOS and Android. That’s right, will be available later this year. Unfortunately this “smart” product is not currently available, it’s been predicted to be one of 2014 hottest new gadgets. This is not just a slow cooker this is the way of the future in the kitchen.
